Team Coaching

How do we coach teams?

We work in partnership with teams to tailor our team coaching to their needs, focusing on Resilience at Work (R@W) coaching or systemic team coaching approaches.

Resilience at Work Team Coaching

Our Resilience at Work (R@W) coaching is a powerful and practical solution for hard-pressed or struggling teams to regain control and build their team’s resilience, leading to improved well-being and performance.

Warning: factors which impact team resilience

Teams and team leaders can face many of these issues at any time, which can undermine resilience:

  • Team restructuring or other significant organisational changes.
  • Increasingly complex work environments and tasks.
  • Dealing with constant change and uncertainty.
  • Difficult team relationships and dynamics.
  • Time pressures leaving teams feeling like a stretched rubber band
  • Having to do more with less.
  • Having to work to meet unrealistic expectations.
  • Remote working and trying to keep the ‘human’ connection.

Accredited Resilience at Work toolkit for teams and leaders

With our toolkit, we work with the team across the seven areas of team resilience to identify practical solutions that will help them not just cope collectively but thrive.  The R@W Toolkit has been designed specifically to help people at work to:

  • Adapt to frequent change and uncertainty
  • Stay productive despite increasing demands to deliver more with less
  • Manage client expectations that may exceed delivery capabilities
  • Maintain physical and emotional well-being despite job pressures

3 powerful tools to transform team resilience

Our Resilience at Work (R@W) coaching and toolkit enable the team to take time out, step back, and see the bigger picture through a combination of assessment tools and team coaching.

We work with the team to identify areas for improvement and develop a practical, focused team plan to enhance team resilience, which is owned by the team.

Our three key tools in our work with the team are:

  1. A short team workshop which unpacks all aspects of team resilience.
  2. A short R@W team resilience online assessment done by the whole team.
  3. Focused coaching with the team and team leader to create a practical resilience plan based on their team’s resilience assessment.

What do we work on with teams in building resilience?

With our toolkit, we work with the team across the seven areas of team resilience to identify practical solutions which will help them not just to cope collectively but instead thrive by being:

  1. Robust: feeling sure in their purpose whilst adapting quickly to change.
  2. Resourceful: optimising their collective resources and strengths.
  3. Persevering: persisting and staying solution-focused when facing obstacles.
  4. Aware of self-care: promoting good stress management routines in the team
  5. Capable: building team capacity through networks and support.
  6. Connected: creating a positive and supportive team culture for each other.
  7. Aligned: staying optimistic, motivated together and sharing success.

Systemic Team Coaching

In systemic team coaching, we work alongside the team as a partner, exploring teamwork across key areas highlighted above.

A systems-focused approach connects coaching to the team’s real-time and everyday environment.  It identifies with the team issues they face on the ground.  It can also involve connecting with team stakeholders to provide more perspectives that help drive team development.

We work flexibly with the team over an agreed period of time.  This creates the space for the team to step back, reflect, and gain insights about their teamwork.

Team coaching is done with the team, never done to them.  Every step of our team coaching work is a partnership with the whole team.

Supported by our coaching, the team can then develop ways to optimise their team environment, work and impact to:

  • Align on a common purpose as a team.
  • Collaborate and learn across diversity.
  • Develop collective leadership.
  • Achieve performance objectives.
  • Effectively engage with their key stakeholders.
  • Build stronger team relationships.
  • Create a supportive and genuine team environment.
  • Jointly transform the team’s broader impact in and outside the organisation.

Systemic team coaching is designed to work with teams for lasting change.
